Grammarians and My Love/Hate Relationship With Them

The AP Stylebook is both a wonderful tool and a pain in my butt.  There are times when I am writing for this class and for my journalism class, that I would like to have a very in-depth conversation with these grammarians about why they are trying to ruin my life.
The most useful thing about the AP Stylebook is probably the common grammar questions it answers.  It’s a concise and simple answer to common questions that I often have, and it’s really easy to look them up.  I will probably end up keeping the AP Stylebook after this semester too.  I think the AP style stuff is easier because I’ve already been exposed to it, and more recently as well.
This is especially true when I think about how little exposure I’ve had to some of the grammar stuff that I’ve been learning.  I don’t remember ever being taught grammar in school.
I also love that the AP Stylebook has separate sections for food, sports, and general questions.  It’s both useful and annoying at the same time.  Sometimes I wish it was all in the same place, and other times I’m glad that it’s separated so that I can differentiate between food and general stuff.
I didn’t really notice any grammar mistakes out and about in the last couple weeks.  However, when in doubt Facebook doesn’t disappoint, specifically the Weber State Confessions Page.
Take a look:

The mistake here is that “baby’s” shouldn’t have an apostrophe “s.”  It should also have a period, since it is missing the punctuation mark to end the sentence.
