I've encountered several
good headlines this week. I wouldn't necessarily say that I've found any really
horrible headlines. Here are a few of the ones I found this week:
- At least 127 killed in
ISIS terror attacks on Paris, French president says
- The Attacks in Paris:
What Happened at Each Location
- 600 Padres Bobbleheads
Mysteriously Left Near Local Residents' Doorstep
- Daughter Wants To
Withdraw From Dad's Battle With Booze
- Missing Hunter Found
Safe After Spending Night In The Woods
- Woman pleads guilty to
lying to get Boston Marathon benefits
- Hundreds of Mormons
resign in Utah same-sex policy protest
- Obama to convene
National Security Council to discuss Paris attack
It’s sad that most of what
makes a story news-worthy is that it involves some sort of trauma. I really
wish that weren’t the case.
Here’s the editing mistake
I found this week:
The picture above is from
a newsletter I recently got from my apartment manager. The text should say, “As
we remodel the pool, we thank you
for your patience with the dust and workers. We are excited about the
improvements to the property as we strive for a better community for everyone.”

you are absolutely right about trying to find a bad headline. i think headlines are the one spot that editors work hard at to make sure it is right. even mornal people have problems writing.
