Headlines
Writing headlines is fun. I think that writing the piece of work that almost everyone reads it great. I love reading the news. It is very cool to try to catch a reader's eye. Headlines, are the deciding factor of whether or not someone will read the story. I have learned that headlines need to have enough information to catch attention but short enough to read with one glance. This compels people to read the article at that point. If they don’t read it they might save it for later. I also learned that there are different types of headlines. Since I started to learn about headlines I started to look more closely at them. I think that it’s important to pay even more attention to them at this point. Now I ask myself, “What can I do to write an even better headline than this.” This helps me learn from very different people writing about very different things. I like short headlines with serious tones. These types of headlines always catch my attention. So I tried see how I could write headlines like that for stories with more humorous tones. Some bad headlines that I saw were usually too short, like three letters long. This didn’t give me enough information to continue reading.

I think you make a great point in your post about headlines needing to have enough information to catch readers attention but they need to be short enough to read with one glance as people are scanning through their social media feeds.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your fun and optimistic post. This class has been challenging in that it has required a great degree of attention to details. Your post puts a positive light on things. Thanks!
