Some good headlines I found this week:
PARIS ATTACK WAS WORK
OF 3 TEAMS, AN ‘ACT OF WAR’ BY ISIS, FRANCE SAYS
This lead works because it gives information on the nature
of the attack as well as a conclusion by the French government. It conveys how
they feel about the attack. The French are certain who is to blame, and this headline
gives you that information.
Update: 120-plus dead
in Paris terror attacks, worst since WWII
This headline is worded appropriately in that it serves to
put the terrorist attack in perspective, comparing it to acts of violence in WWII
in terms of how severe it was.
Meet the Instamom, a
Stage Mother for Social Media
I like this headline because it uses a playful term based on
“Instagram.” The story is about a mom that takes photos of his son wearing
clothes from specific online shops, and then posts those photos to his Instagram
account. She is paid for each post.
The Microcomplaint:
Nothing Too Small to Whine About
This is an article that discusses how in the age of social media,
we complain about every single thing that happens to us. I thought it was smart
and to the point.
This week's editing mistake comes courtesy of Occupy Democrats on Facebook. They misspelled George Takei's name in this graphic.
Wow, you found several great headlines to use as an example. I definitely agree with your comments regarding the first headline you shared. It is simple but gives enough information to keep the reader interested and wanting to read more.
