My favorite websites are Netflix, Twitter and Google. These
websites are simple in their design and present their information in an
organized fashion. The content of these websites help, but the reason I choose
Netflix over Hulu or Crackle is because it is easy to use and easy to find the information
I am looking for. I love twitter because in just 140 characters I can get the
information. It is also a very basic website. Next to the text and pictures,
there is not much more than a shade of blue and a little bird to Twitter. Google
has a clean and basic design. There are other search engines, but Google is
easy to use and presents its information in an easy to access fashion. Each of
these websites crosses over to mobile quite easily. They are not full of eccentric
colors or use of some new design. My favorite websites stick to the concepts
that have been established over the lifetime of the internet. Sticking to simple,
organized design that adheres to previously established concepts of the internet
are important to design a website.
This week’s grammar mistake comes from my PR writing class.
We were all supposed to write objectives on the white board and I wrote “5
percent” and my classmates went off on how I am supposed to write out numbers
one through nine. I was able to open the AP Stylebook and show them that
numbers with “percent” is always a numeral. I felt pretty Awesome because I got
5 extra credit points.
